What we collect and why

• Checker answers (years, relationships, yes/no answers about your ancestors) and the result, without your name, to measure how the checker is used and improve it (legitimate interest, GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
• Your e-mail address, only if you ask for your result by e-mail, to send it and up to 3 follow-up e-mails (consent, art. 6(1)(a); withdraw anytime by replying "unsubscribe").
• Order and case data (name, contact details, family documents and records of your ancestors), to perform the review or package you ordered and to file the application (contract, art. 6(1)(b)); invoices and payment records, to meet legal obligations (art. 6(1)(c)).

Who receives it

Only those who help deliver your order, under data-processing agreements: our case coordinator, sworn translators and archive researchers; Google (form storage and e-mail); Stripe (payments); and the Polish public authorities handling your application. We do not sell data.

Transfers outside the EEA

Google and Stripe may process data in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long

Checker statistics: 24 months. E-mail address for results: until you unsubscribe or 12 months. Case files: until your case ends plus 3 years (limitation period); accounting records: 5 years from the end of the tax year.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent: write to polishrootscheck@gmail.com. You may complain to the Polish supervisory authority (Prezes UODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa) or the authority in your country.

The site sets no tracking cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment pages.
