Polish Roots Check

Are you already a Polish citizen by descent?

Polish citizenship passes from parent to child with no limit on generations, as long as the line was never broken. Answer a few questions about your ancestor and each generation down to you, and the checker applies the 1920, 1951, 1962 and 2009 citizenship acts to show what could have broken it. It's free and needs no account.

$1,490 for the whole confirmation

We do the eligibility review, archive requests, sworn translations, the application and the state fees, file it in Poland as your proxy, and follow the case until the decision. Each additional family member on the same line is $650. You pay 60% ($894) to start and the rest when we file. You can cancel within 14 days for a full refund, and if we find before filing that your line doesn't qualify, we refund everything except work already done.

Not sure yet? Start with the $79 review below, or book a free 15-minute call with a case coordinator.

$79 for an expert review

A citizenship case specialist checks your line against the 1920 to 2009 acts and sends you the risk points and the exact records to request, within 5 business days. The $79 is credited in full if you go on to the $1,490 service.

This is general information, not legal advice. We are a document and filing service, not a law firm. If you want a legal opinion or court representation, you can hire an independent Polish attorney directly; we take no fees from attorneys.

How it works

  1. Free check. About three minutes. You see straight away what could break your line and which documents you need.
  2. Expert review, $79 (optional). A case specialist checks your line and lists the archives and records to request. The fee is credited if you continue.
  3. We prepare and file. Archive requests in Poland, sworn translations, the application and the state fees. Our coordinator in Poland files it at the Mazowiecki Voivode Office as your proxy.
  4. We follow the case to the decision. We answer the office's letters and keep you posted. Warsaw currently takes about 18 to 24 months to decide.

Questions

Do I have to give up my current citizenship?

No. Poland allows dual citizenship, and you are confirming a citizenship you already hold by descent.

Do I need to travel to Poland?

No. Your proxy in Poland files the application. You sign a power of attorney and send original or certified documents by courier.

Are you a law firm?

No. We are a document and filing service. Polish law allows any adult to act as your proxy in this administrative procedure. If you want a legal opinion or court representation, you can hire an independent Polish attorney directly; we take no fees from attorneys.

What if my ancestor's documents are missing?

Most records can be found in Polish civil and church archives. Our capped archive search covers the request, the fees and the follow-up.

How long does it take?

We prepare and file within about 4 to 8 weeks of receiving your documents. The Mazowiecki Voivode Office then takes around 18 to 24 months to decide.
